Dog in Greece (9)

After that lovely swim I am drying off nicely now, but I’m hungry and they’ve been gone hours and hours, well that’s what it feels like.

Ah, here they are, dinner at last.  What, no dinner yet.  Now where are we going….and I can still see the sea.  These roads are rather scary, look no crash barrier and all that nothingness to the sea.

Looks like we are coming into a little harbour; lots of boats and water.  So, stopping again, do I get my dinner now?

Obviously not, they’ve just been speaking to someone and off we go again.  Away from the sea, oh no!  Ah, but now we have trees and forests, I love trees and forests plenty of places to sniff and explore.  No, we are not stopping here.  Oh, where are we going I’m getting bored, must have a whinge.

This looks interesting; we’ve just stopped outside a little white house with blue shutters; so different from Britain, and there are vines outside (the fruit makes that liquid which makes people laugh a lot – I tried some once that had been spilled but it made me walk funny and bang into things; slept well after though) and geraniums (I try and eat those), oh and a lemon tree (I treat lemons like tennis balls as they are nearly the same shape, but then when they split the juice makes me wince) and mandarins (now I do like a bit of mandarin orange; its good for me all that vitamin C).

They’re going inside – are they visiting someone?   Well, they’d better hurry up I’m hungry, as always.

Now they are taking all our things out of the car and putting them in that house.  Is this where we are going to stay, I wonder, because if it is then let me out I have to have a look, come on, come on, whinge, whinge.

My turn, out I go, charge…..must inspect and run through all the house, back and to, jump up, round and round, jump up, I’m so excited. Having a good sniff round.  This is not our furniture, well we got rid of ours before we left; this little house comes with plenty of furniture so they do not need to buy any.

So here we have a bedroom; must test the bed, yep that’s comfy and will do nicely, so where will they sleep as there is no other bedroom, so they think they’ll share this bed with me do they?

And a living room, with a big sofa, yes that’s comfy too.

And a bathroom with a drinking bowl for me – I’ve seen these before although there wasn’t one in our house in Britain.  It was when we had the overnight stay in Ancona. They left my bowl in the car so they filled one of these up with water so I could have a drink, strange place for an automatic dog water bowl in the bathroom, but hey, I suppose that’s what they do here.  They call it a bidet.  Oh and there’s a bath, I like it when they have a bath; I get to lick the soap and drink the water.  Oh yes, I help, of course, when they use the soap I have to lick it off, although they never seem too pleased about that and tell me to go away.  I don’t go away and they can’t do a thing about it because they’d have to get out of the bath to shut the door.  Ha ha!  They say my middle name is ‘barge-barge-coming-through’.

What a big kitchen, and another sofa which is just as comfy as the other, a table and chairs and lots of cupboards which I’ll undoubtedly get round to checking at some point.

So, I get some food now, do I?  That’s good and about time.  Now for a nap and then I should get a walk later so I can explore by new neighbourhood.

To be continued…/
